Para Dos is an upcoming Argentine tango shoe brand established in 2016 in Taiwan by its sole founder, Barbara Zollin Kuo, who is also an avid tango dancer.  

      The company’s mission is to combine Taiwan’s long history and expertise in hand made fine shoes with the ambition to create tango shoes that offer the beauty and comfort desired by all tango dancers. 

      With its mission in mind, Para Dos spent over a year researching, developing, and designing a carefully handcrafted tango shoe that offers the most discerning dancer comfort and stability as well as elegant style.  

       All shoes are hand made by local artisans using only fine genuine leather including leather insoles and leather shoe soles. Every piece of leather was chosen for its comfort as well as for fashion design. Heel placement on shoe was also carefully considered to provide the most stable fit. 

       Para Dos cares about every detail of the shoe and hopes that each pair of shoes will bring to its dancer,satisfaction in its comfort, and elegance to their tango attire. 

      Since our premier in 2017 June, we have since created and introduced a number of other collections and have displayed and introduced our brand throughout Asia. 

　　We premiered in Fukuoka Japan in June 2017 and followed immediately with a display in Beijing and Chengdu China in July.  Upon return to Taiwan, we took our collection and did a tour around Taiwan in all the major cities from July to August. We were met with much welcome and from this initial tour, slowly but surely our popularity in Taiwan’s tango community grew. In September, we displayed at Taipei Tango Festival, the largest international and most well-known tango event in Taiwan.

      By October 2017, we introduced our Manhattan Line of open heel sandals.  Our highlight for 2017 was meeting Clarisa Aragon and Jonathan Saavandra when they came to Taipei for workshops.  Clarisa loved our Manhattan Line in Pure Gold and to our surprise and excitement, she wore them for her performance here in Taipei.  Since then we have seen her in our Para Dos shoes in performances around the world!

      2018 was an exciting year for us…we ventured into other Asian countries beside Japan and China.  We introduced Para Dos to Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and Bail Indonesia for the first time this year. 

      Japan, is our second largest market after Taiwan and as such we go there at least 3 to 4 times a year. In 2018, we have displayed in many local milongas, and two major events, including the Tokyo Tango Festival.  Moreover, Para Dos shoes are also carried and sold in Japan’s Para Dos Tango Studio in Tokyo and Elegancia ( retail store for tango clothes and shoes) in Fukuoka.  In China, we displayed for the first time in both Hangzhou and Shanghai.  And finally, in Taiwan, we had a presence at all the major events held in our home base, namely Taiwan Tango Marathon, Taipei Tango Festival, and Taiwan Tango 20 years Celebration.  As for our shoes, we introduced our Manhattan X Collection in the springtime and our Milano Collection during the summer.  During the fall time we introduced another set of Manhattan X to fulfill customer demands for this style.

      Another highlight in 2018 is Para Dos entered the USA market!  We owe this development to Analia Carreno and we are forever grateful to her for always supporting us.  Besides our online store, a selection of Para Dos shoes is always available in New Jersey with Analia Carreno. 

      2019 Para Dos continued to expand both its presence in Asia and roll out new collections.  Our Ginza Line in both wide and normal widths was introduced in the early part of the year.  We started our international tour in 2019 in Tokyo and Fukuoka for the Sakura Tango Festival.

      April we again displayed in Bangkok for Thailand Tango Festival and May brought us to Malaysia where we were part of the very first Malaysia Festival and Championships.  July we ventured into Manila Philippines and we displayed at Manila Adicto Marathon to great success. July also brought us back to Japan.  September and October Para Dos was present at the two main events in Taiwan, Taipei International Tango Festival and Tango Origin event.

      Another new set of colorful Manhattan X was introduced in May.   A new Milano Collection in our exclusive orange label was brought onto the market by August.  Soon after, we then presented the Lisboa Line, which came out in October and have practically flown off our shelves since its introduction.

      2020 January saw us back in Manila with a very successful and fruitful display at the Manila Tango Marathon.  In March, we brought back our Manhattan Line due to popular demand and we also introduced our new collection, the Lisboa X in dreamy pastel colors. 

      Para Dos is proud to acknowledge that our insistence for stable heels, high quality shoe standards, fine leathers, and elegant styles has been recognized by many tangueras in the tango community in Asia. We have slowly but surely created a name for ourselves as a quality brand of tango shoes and continue to grow fans all over the world.   Para Dos will continue to update our adventures from time to time and until then, we will continue to strive for excellence in our shoes and continue our efforts into expanding our market around the world.
